This chapter, which describes ongoing efforts to develop guidelines for the development of an eradication investment case (EIC), first examines the process of preparing an EIC and then updates the list of the critical elements of an EIC identified at the Ernst Strüngmann Forum. It also discusses the subsequent meeting convened in Boston, Massachusetts, the goal of which was to create a template for the EIC guidelines in support of the decision-making process involved in launching a disease eradication initiative.
