This chapter focuses on Newton’s feud with Leibniz by focusing on the main stages of the quarrel, which started when the two mathematicians landed the same discovery in calculus, with regards to Newton’s method of first and ultimate ratios. This followed accusations of plagiarism by both parties. The chapter notes that the feud between Newton and Leibniz continued until the latter’s death in 1716.
