The Strategy Challenge
The Strategy Challenge
This chapter first discusses the changing corporate environment, highlighting the need for firms to be careful when formulating their corporate strategies in an uncertain, competitive environment. It then explains how an understanding of competitive strategy in terms of sound economic principles is useful to managers. It presents two complementary but separate perspectives on strategy (corporate finance and game theory). Next, it addresses the need for an integrative approach to corporate strategy, followed by an overview of the subsequent chapters.
