Amateur Wives and the Attraction of Authenticity
Amateur Wives and the Attraction of Authenticity
This chapter focuses on the authenticity of pornography categories, including amateur, mainstream, professional, and commercial. Developments in technology, especially cameras used in the production of amateur pornography, inspired the gonzo genre that uses semi-amateur performers to produce pornography. Gonzo paved the way for reality pornography, which involves staged scenes and scenarios and is professionally produced. The Introduction of webcams helped to bring a sense of authenticity, which is important for pornography to attract an audience. The rise of amateur pornography online, due to its authenticity is discussed, as is the downside of using makeup and airbrushed video productions in pornography, which kills this authenticity factor. Fantasies related to mature women in online pornography, given the name the MILF genre by U.S. popular culture, are also discussed.
Keywords: amateur pornography, gonzo genre, webcams, authenticity, airbrushed video productions, MILF
