The OSGeo Case: An Example of the Evolving OSS Ecosystem
This chapter presents a case study of the Open-Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo), a nonprofit organization involved in the development of open-source software (OSS) geographic information systems (GIS). It traces the history of OSGeo, including its finances and assets, and discusses the results of interviews conducted with those involved in GIS projects.
