Conclusion: The Western Political Theory Canon, Nature, and a Broader Dialogue
Peter F. Cannavò and Joseph H. Lane Jr. review the volume. They discuss the complexity of the Western political theory regarding nature and argue that Western political thought is not wholly anthropocentric. However, following up on Kassiola’s chapter on Confucius, they emphasize the need to go beyond the Western tradition and pursue comparative political theory for insights in dealing with our ecological crisis.
