The last economic response predicted by the AC/SC framework is the expansion of markets to counter the price signal that is expected to accompany increases in the supply of fish. This chapter documents the technological changes that were necessary to expand markets, including improvements in shipping and preservation technologies, and then describes how the industry used marketing techniques to expand market share in many parts of the world.
