A Critical Review of the Research on Women’s Participation in Postsecondary Computing Education
This chapter reviews the literature on women in postsecondary computing education. It highlights two conditions that contribute to the persistence of women's underrepresentation. The first condition is an inadequate understanding of the underlying and immediate causes. The second condition is inadequate intervention efforts. The chapter focuses on evidence-based social science research into the factors leading to women's underrepresentation.
